Fanart times differently! Artist puts the landscape of WoW in the spotlight

The artist Dreamwalker focuses on characters that roam through many different landscapes of World of Warcraft. The remarkable thing about his works is that said characters play only a supporting role. There are few, if any, heroes in his paintings. Instead, the architecture, the monuments or the nature come more into focus. Among the highlights of Dreamwalker's gallery are the posters with the view of the Horde base Blade Hill and the idyllic area of Nordhain.

So dreamlike beautiful is Azeroth

Really dreamlike, however, are his panoramic images showing the classic cities and settlements from WoW. For example, there is the Alliance capital Stormwind, the marketplace of Thunderrock or the mystical forests of Teldrassil.

The iconic artwork from the pen & paper role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons served as inspiration for Dreamwalker. The images from the popular RPG universe have influenced numerous artists over the past decades. Hardly any gamer could escape the charm of the fantastic covers of the adventure books. In contrast to the illustrations of Dreamwalker, however, the focus in D&D is rather on the heroes and creatures. At this point, the artist clearly wanted to stand out from the creators of the D&D title pictures.

We have shown you just a few examples from Dreamwalker's fantastic gallery. If you want to learn more about the artist and follow his work, take a look at his DeviantArt and Instagram page. There you'll find several versions of his images with and without captions. Have fun browsing!
