US actor, producer and director Jon Favreau has become Disney's all-purpose weapon in recent years, turning ambitious projects into successes. Among other things, he built a strong foundation for the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man as well as Iron Man 2, and created the best Star Wars moments in several decades with the first two seasons of "The Mandalorian."
If you watched the second season of "The Mandalorian" all the way to the end, you stumbled upon a mysterious announcement during the credits that wasn't a topic of discussion during Disney's last investor call: for Disney+, "The Book of Boba Fett" was announced. On the TV show "Good Morning America" Jon Favreau now explained what it's all about.
"The Book of Boba Fett" is a series spinoff for which filming has already begun. He himself is again acting as producer, and his Mandalorian partner Dave Filoni and director Robert Rodriguez (From Dusk Till Dawn) are also on board. Starring roles will include Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, known from The Mandalorian, and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand.

While "The Book of Boba Fett" is set to debut on Disney+ in December 2021, we likely won't see the next chapter of "Mando" (played by Pedro Pascal) until 2022.
