WoW: 279 million gold for a World 2nd - Limits final settlement in the Sanctum

So far we don't have any info on how much gold Echo spent winning the World First Race for Sylvanas. The second-place Limit put nearly 280 million gold into the competition again. And in the process, the number of costly BoE items in this raid was actually cut in half again.

Limit's treasurer Veyloris has listed how the 279 million gold expenditure is made up.

  • 6 million gold for repair costs
  • 25 million gold for consumables
  • 70 million gold for PvP Carries
  • 18 million gold internal debt
  • 160 million gold for BoEs

160 Million Gold for BoEs sounds a lot, but anyone who has been following the World First Race for Castle Nathria will know that this time the amount is limited. BoEs were the main reason for "saving" a good 50 million gold in the World First Race for Count Denathrius as opposed to the Sanctum of Domination this time around. In this content, Limit spent 400,000 gold per hour in the meantime.

In order to have more good items to choose from in the Great Treasury after the first ID, players had to achieve a high PvP score. Limit has some of the best PvP players in their ranks, but not all of them are able to reach the 2,100 or even 2,400 rating in the competitive first ID. As a result, they too have had to pay for PvP carries.

Cauldrons, buff food, and runes make up the bulk of the expenditures in consumable items. Costs for oils and enchantments, on the other hand, are peanuts. We find the repair costs much more impressive. But well, if you wipe 216 times on Sylvanas alone, you'll have to dent your armor more often. By the way, in past expansions the price for repairs might have been even higher. Jaina, for example, was only defeated after 346 attempts, not to mention bosses like Uu'nat from the mini-raid Crucible of Storms. Here, over 700 tries went to nothing.

Overall, the costs are kept in check compared to other raid tiers. Guild leader Max has already confirmed that the debt is not that high this time and that the carry runs for Sylvanas will be easier than ever.
