WoW: Blizzard cripples one of the biggest bot tools (EWT)

The fight against the machines and the attempt to make the game world of World of Warcraft fairer is going into the next round. After Blizzard has made life more difficult for multiboxers by banning input software and banning more and more bots in the recent past, the bot tools are now under attack again.

The operator of the EWT platform received a cease-and-desist notice from Blizzard and subsequently shut down EWT. The tool allowed you to bypass the LUA functions in WoW (buy now 14,99 € )

Does this mean bots will now be eradicated?
Unfortunately, no. In the past, we've reported on bot software being crippled by developers in one way or another. Bots and/or offering the software seems to continue to be so lucrative in WoW that after a short time the next program was designed to let characters run through the world on their own and flood the auction house with herbs, ores, etc. Also, EWT is not the bot software par excellence, there are many different vendors and programs out there.

As icy-veins reports, the popular bot toolkit WowMatric is also said to be down in the meantime, at least the homepage is no longer functional since the news about EWT. So Blizzard has been dealing with other bot tools at the same time. And that already seems to show effect.

As reddit users report in the comments, the prices for thorium ore and ghost mushrooms in the bot-infested WoW Classic have already gone up again, which suggests that a lot of ores and herbs of the bots have disappeared from the game.
