Update from May 2:
The developers at Blizzard Entertainment recently announced that the free character transfers for selected servers (see below) were closed during the night of May 1. This means that currently only paid transfers are available to you - which have a cooldown of three months (90 days).
The message from Community Manager Kaivax in the wording:
At around 3:00 p.m. PDT today, we will close the Free Character Move service on all realms where it is currently available.
In this region, this means that all of the different Free Character Moves available from Incendius, Faerlina, and Whitemane will no longer be offered.
We will continue to monitor realm populations, and make further adjustments as necessary.
According to Kaivax, this also affects the European server Firemaw:
At around 12:00 a.m. Midnight CEST tonight, we will close the Free Character Move service on all realms where it is currently available.
In this region, this means that all of the different Free Character Moves available from the Firemaw realm will no longer be offered.
We will continue to monitor realm populations, and make further adjustments as necessary.
Update from April 17:
In the official WoW forum, Community Manager Kaivax posted an update on the current character transfer options for WoW Classic players a few hours ago. On the servers Arugal, Faerlina and Whitemane there are now restrictions for the creation of new characters: Only players who already have characters on these realms are allowed to create new ones for them. A paid character transfer is not available for these servers
those who want to switch to the Incendius server for a fee can now do so again. Alliance players of Incendius still have the possibility to switch to the servers Earthfury, Netherwind, Thalnos and Windseeker for free. There are no measures for German-speaking servers yet. How do you rate this and the current population on your realm?
Original news from April 08:
Last night, the developers at Blizzard finally announced when content phase 4 of WoW Classic will start. Zul'Gurub, the Nightmare Dragons, and the Fishing Contest will land on the live servers on April 16. Accompanying the reveal of the release date was another announcement that has already been put into action during the night: Blizzard offers the possibility of a free character transfer for some heavily populated Classic servers.
Affected are on the one hand three US servers .
..... but on the other hand also a european server
According to Blizzard, anyone who is currently playing on the affected servers and is considering a transfer should hurry. As soon as one of the target servers is "full", the character transfer option will be discontinued for that server without warning.
How does it look: Would you like to see the option of a free character transfer for a German-language WoW (buy now 14,99 € )-Classic server? Tell us in the comments!
