WoW: Less experience in dungeons - German patch notes of the hotfixes

Update from October 28th:
In the meantime, the German patch notes for the WoW hotfixes from October 27 are available. We have updated the message accordingly.

Original message from October 27th:
Last night, Community Manager Kaivax spoke out in the official forum of World of Warcraft (buy now 14,99 € ): With a hotfix, the developers have adjusted the amount of experience you can get in the dungeons on the live servers. This amount is now standardized and no longer changes with the group size. The fixed amount corresponds to the experience value you previously received in the respective dungeon with a full 5-player group.

Kaivax also explains the reason for this change: "When the developers balanced the dungeon experience for the pre-patch, they had full groups in mind. However, players took advantage of the pre-patch changes and dungeon scaling to develop extreme leveling strategies with smaller groups. Dungeons should be worthwhile in terms of experience earned, but they should not completely overshadow other options like quests.

Blizzard has also already released the official (English) patch notes for last night's hotfixes. As soon as the official German translation is online, we'll update the section, of course.

Official Patch Notes for Hotfixes from October 27th

Classes

  • Shaman
    • Reinforcement
      • The Igniting Tongue azerite bonus will now activate as intended when Weapon of Flame Tongue is active on your weapon.

Dungeons & Raids

  • Players will now receive the same amount of experience in dungeons by default, regardless of party size.
    • Developer Comment: Experience received now defaults to the amount of experience player characters previously received as part of a party of 5 players. Previously, the experience received was based on the maximum party size. A loophole in claiming objectives, combined with the changes to dungeon scaling in the preparation patch, allowed for unwanted mechanics in leveling up that gave smaller groups a significant advantage. While we want dungeons to be worthwhile, we want them to serve as an alternative to quests and other experience sources without overshadowing them.

Quests

  • Characters who have not yet completed the Dark Coast introductory quest series can now find Anduin Wrynn back in the throne room to turn in their quests.
