Yesterday (3.8.21) the first consequences in the sexism lawsuit were drawn at Blizzard - President J. Allen Brack leaves the company. As so-called co-leaders Jen Oneal and Mike Ybarra will take his place.
Jen Oneal joined Blizzard in January 2021 as executive vice president of development, supporting the Diablo and Overwatch franchises, for example. She previously spent 13 years at Vicarious Visions (now part of Blizzard). Vicarious Visions is responsible for the Diablo 2 remaster, among other things. Mike Ybarra joined the company in 2019 and previously served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Platform and Technology, responsible for the smooth running of Battle.net. Prior to that, he worked for XBOX for just under 20 years.
Proudly showcased his +20 achievements for Mythic Plus dungeons on Twitter. Not many WoW players manage to do that, especially since the tweet was made in early July - the very beginning of the new Mythic-Plus Season. As long as he didn't pay for boosts, we can assume Ybarra knows what's going on in WoW and actually plays the game himself.
Diablo 2: Ressurected already felt like a finished version of the remaster in the alpha. So Jen Oneal has done a good job with Vicarious Visions here as well, and has been a game tester for years before. Let's hope for the future that they can push Blizzard forward.Support buffed - it'll only take a minute. Thank you!
