Now it's official! Chains of Domination is the imposing name for the upcoming patch 9.1, which will turn Shadowlands upside down once again. The four pacts must unite to put an end to the dark machinations of the Dungeon Master. Together with allies old and new, our heroes descend into the dark depths of the Maw to uncover the true intentions behind Zovaal and Sylvanas' evil plans. But the duo is no longer alone; at their side appears a new champion - Anduin Wrynn, Sylvanas' vile instrument of despair, capable of striking terror into the hearts of Azeroth's heroes like no other being in the Shadowlands. What horrors await in the dungeon master's seat of power? And can the High King of the Alliance still be saved?

The Curse of King's Grail
In the Bastion, Kyrestia, the powerful leader of the Kyrians, calls a council. The Archon knows that the Kyrians can no longer close themselves off. The Kyrians propose an alliance with the Winter Queen, they want to protect the Shadowlands together again. But before Kyrestia can get her act together, Anduin Wrynn appears in the Bastion. He seems unchanged, but his gaze is icy cold. As Uther is led past him, Frostmourne's wound hurts again. A clear sign that something is wrong with the High King of the Alliance.
When Anduin appears before the Archon, Kyrestia realizes that he is possessed by the dungeon master's spirit. But her realization comes too late! Anduin draws his sword Shalamayne and pierces the Archon with the Gramblade. We see the runesword steal Kyrestia's soul. The guardian of the Bastion has fallen! Moments later, Anduin delivers her essence to the dungeon master, whose gaze then falls upon a chained island in the gloomy mists of the Maw. The island in question is Korthia, a long-lost realm and new game area that we soon get to explore. What is the dungeon master trying to find there?
The villain obtains the first key, needing three more. This probably means the essences from the rest of the Eternals. The Winter Queen is probably next on his list of victims. We don't know what the current status of Primus of Maldraxxus and the devious Count Denathrius is. The leader of the Necrolords is most likely the Runemason, who has been trapped in Torghast for what seems like an eternity. Denathrius' soul, on the other hand, has been imprisoned in his Runeblade Remoria. So it won't be long before the dungeon master's henchmen show up in Fall of Man.

Players can search for answers in Korthia, City of Mysteries, and adventure into the game world with new quests and activities.
- THE PACTS ARE STRUGGLING BACK - The Kyrians, Night Fae, Necrolords, and Venthyr have returned to their former strength, and now it's up to players to unite the four pacts - and join forces to launch an attack on the Dungeon Master in his realm.
- RAID: THE SANCTUM OF DOMINION - Players can face the treacherous and unexplored expanses of Torghast in a new 10-boss raid: the Sanctum of Domination. There they will encounter the true Eye of the Dungeon Master, turn the battle against the Tarragrue in their favor, and face the Banshee Queen herself in a fateful battle.
- NEW MEGADUNGEON: TAZAVESH, THE HIDDEN MARKET - In this eight-boss mythical megadungeon set against the backdrop of a bazaar of mysterious midwayers, players can discover exotic goods and strange creatures, and ultimately steal powerful artifacts from Azeroth in a risky heist.
