The alpha of the next WoW expansion Shadowlands has been running at full speed for two weeks - but Blizzard has severely limited access for testers so far. Initially, only a few select community members and members of the press were able to set foot in the first Zone Bastion as part of initial alpha testing.
Now, however, Blizzard has apparently distributed another wave of alpha access: As Vanion reports, new players have been allowed to try out the content of the current alpha build since April 23, 2020. The developers have not officially announced the new wave of invites, but reports are piling up from fans who recently received their access.
The reason for the new wave of invitations is obvious: in addition to Bastion, we can now also visit the Revendreth zone, which is home to the Pact of the Vampiric Venthyr. The Venthyr take care of souls corrupted by sins and try to bring them back to the path of redemption. You can read more details about this on our Shadowlands topic page.
By the way, the following still applies: There are no e-mails with keys for the Alpha!
If you receive such a message, it is almost certainly a scam or a phishing attack. Instead, Blizzard will automatically unlock you in the Battlenet client for the Shadowlands Alpha. Once you have received access, the game version "Shadowlands Alpha" will appear in the "In Development" section of your WoW account.Support buffed - it will only take a minute.
