WoW Shadowlands: Honor from rated PvP required for weekly PvP reward

Even in the final days of beta, developers are still twisting and turning on some of the features that will come into play with the release of WoW Shadowlands. Now it has hit the treasure chamber. Every week we can choose one of up to nine different items for our character. Provided, of course, that we have unlocked them via raids, Mythic-Plus dungeons or PvP. For the latter, the requirements have now changed. Previously, you needed 875 conquest points to unlock the three items.

With the last build, however, the developers have adjusted that. Now, and probably also on the live servers, conquest points will no longer help you. Instead, you need honor to unlock the items.

Those who rejoice now may be rejoicing too soon. Not every kind of honor is counted here. Only honor from rated PvP counts for the weekly PvP reward from the treasury. So whatever you pick up in the open world or in unranked battlegrounds won't help you. For active PvP players, this should be a good change, as they can now get the necessary amounts faster. PvE players will probably have a hard time with it. But since even PvP-avoiders will unlock up to six other potential rewards through raids and dungeons, this shouldn't be a big deal.

Here's how much you'll need in the future:

  • 1st reward - 1,250 honor via rated PvP
  • 2nd reward - 2,500 honor via rated PvP
  • 3rd reward - 6.250 honor over rated PvP

For comparison, a victory in 2v2 will give you about 200 honor. A victory on the battlefield even 850 honor.

Conquest points will still remain in the game and will be used to buy equipment from the PvP merchant in Oribos.
