Some WoW streamers and other content creators have decided to give Final Fantasy 14 Online a shot during the content lull leading up to Patch 9.1. FF 14 is still currently the game that seems to offer the most competition to WoW in the MMORPG space. Just recently FF 14 set a new player record on Steam, which could possibly be due to overflowing WoW players.
Now even the biggest WoW.streamer Asmongold got carried away with Square Enix's MMORPG. Whether he is really interested in the world of Eorzea, or like many other content creators just wants to show the developers of WoW the middle finger with it, one does not know so exactly. For the players in FF14 the visit of Asmongold was in any case not so positive. Because as you know it from big streamers, there are a lot of fans of the streamer on the server at the same time.
This leads to huge clusters of players swarming around the streamer's character, trying to get attention by spamming the chat. In the case of Asmongold's fans, they even blocked important NPCs - to the displeasure of the other FF 14 players.
WoW: "That guy is an asshole" - Blizzard employee insults Asmongold (1) Source: meinmmo.de Needless to say, the FF 14 community does not take kindly to this. Players like XylariaVG spoke out against the hate and rudeness that the Asmongold community has brought to Eorzea. He also calls for any inappropriate actions from Asmongold's community to be reported.
Under XylariaVG's tweet, Lead Product Manager Adam Holisky made a rather unfortunate tweet: "That guy is an asshole" he wrote as a comment, which he has since deleted. His account has since been set to private and in his bio he apologizes for the faux pas: "Threats of violence are pretty lame. Maybe I'll reopen my account one day."
Asmongold has since been bombarded with images of the tweet. However, he is taking it in stride. After all, he often talks bad about Blizzard in his stream and the direction in which WoW (buy now 14,99 € ) is developing. So he can live with the fact that Blizzard also comes sometimes contra, even if that was not really professional from the point of view of the Blizzard employee.00:30
